Product Review - V8 Energy Drinks

Since I have completely cut out all sodas (carbonated drinks) from my diet over the past 2 months, I have found myself in need to something that will give me energy; especially in the mornings.

While I do enjoy a cup of coffee now and again, I do not like to drink it every morning as it seems to mess with my digestion; so I have cut myself back to one or two cups a week and so far it seems to be working.

I have always struggled with getting my daily amount of vegetables. It has been a problem that I have been fighting for years because I honestly do not like vegetables of any shape or form. Well, that's not true as I am quite fond of corn but there is only so many ways one can eat corn until it gets old. Granted I have made discoveries of drinks that will help me reach my daily amount of vegetables, V8 being one of them and the other being Green Machine. But it was this new product from V8 that caught my attention. It was exactly what I was looking for and I was so happy to try it.

I have tried several of the flavors but by far my top favorites are the Peach Mango and the Pomegranate Blueberry. These two flavors I can't seem to get tired of and no matter what other flavors that I have tried, I always keep coming back to these two. They are the perfect mixture and even though you know that there are vegetables in the drink, you cannot taste them. I think that is perhaps the thing that I like the most is that I cannot taste the vegetables. Perhaps my taste buds will change over time to start to like the taste of vegetables.

I have now taken to drinking one of these drinks with my breakfast every morning in order for me to be fully alert for the rest of my day. I've been doing this for a few weeks now and I will never look back to my old routine. I feel more awake during the day after consuming this drink and I feel healthier because I'm getting some vegetables in me every day.

Well that's it for this review.

Product Review - Quest Cereal Protein Bars

Recently I tried some new protein bars that were based on cereal flavors. I have tried Quest bars before and there are some that I like and some that I do not much care for. So I thought I would give two of the flavors a try to see if I liked them. Well I liked one of them and the other one I did not care for in the least.

The first one that I tried was the Cinnamon Roll flavored one. Surprisingly this was the one that I didn't care for. For something that has cinnamon in it, it really was pretty tasteless; which surprised me to say the least. It was good and it was a good start to my day when I was in a rush out of the door and didn't have time to make me some breakfast. However I don't think that I will be getting this flavor anytime soon. Maybe if they change the recipe or perhaps add more cinnamon to it because it really doesn't taste like anything. At least to me, which I am aware that not everyone is going to have the same taste-buds as me. I would compare this flavor to that of a rice cake if I am honest, it had a little flavor but not the burst of flavor that I have come to expect from a product that contains cinnamon.

The second flavor that I tried was Waffle. Now this was the one that I expected that I wouldn't like cause I'm just not a fan of waffles. But I was surprised to say the least when I found that I liked the taste of it. Unlike the cinnamon flavored one, this one was bursting with a buttery flavor as well as that of syrup. It was very tasty and pleasing to eat. It went very well as a replacement bar for breakfast and it kept me full a bit longer than the cinnamon one. I can't help but wonder if it had anything to do with the taste being more pleasant to eat then the cinnamon one.

So between the two of them, I'd chose the Waffle flavored one. I know that there are a few other flavors available and I want to try them to see if I will like them. Cause I know that I'm going to get bored with eating the same flavor over and over again. But that's okay. Also sorry for the short review but there really isn't much else that I can say about this product.

Coffee Thins Expresso Review

For those that are looking for the perfect combination of chocolate and espresso, I'd like to introduce you to Coffee Thins. I was able to try out this product thanks to Spoon University and I quickly became addicted to these little delightful squares.

The chocolate itself comes in a pack of 3 individually wrapped squares of delight. The mixture is simply perfect with each chocolate square containing the perfect amount of espresso, I think it is roughly one shot in each bar. The chocolate itself is on the cheaper side of the spectrum, a little over $2 and the only place that I have been able to find it is at Wal-Mart. I mean I'm sure Amazon carries them to because let's be honest Amazon carries all things that are amazing and some that are downright odd. But I'm getting off topic.

The amount of espresso in each bar is enough to make one feel awake and alert. And I mean let's be honest, who doesn't enjoy the thought of eating a little chocolate in the morning or in mid-afternoon when you need that pick-me-up to get you through the rest of the day. Everyone needs that once in and while; and if you can get to experience the delicious taste of chocolate along with the pep that is espresso, who can say no to that. I know I can't.

Granted I will admit that I am a snob when it comes to chocolate these days, only really enjoying Cadbury, Ghiradelli and Godiva chocolate as all other chocolates seem inferior in taste and in texture. So I was a bit apprehensive when I first tried this as I thought I would hate the chocolate. But I must admit that even without the espresso mixed in with it, that the chocolate itself could hold it's on in the market. It's not too bitter and it's not too sweet, which is honestly hard to come by as it seems that chocolate tends to get sweeter and sweeter with every new product that gets put out into stores. So finding one that is a perfect combination and that does not cost an arm and a leg, is a great find in my opinion.

This review is on the shorter side because what else can one say about chocolate. But I do encourage you to go out and try it yourself, and if you don't enjoy it then I'm pretty sure you know someone who will enjoy it.

Moose Munch Gourmet Popcorn Review

I'm always on the lookout for new snacks, granted some of them aren't really as healthy as they could be but we do need to treat ourselves once in awhile in my opinion. Because let's be honest, life would get pretty boring if we ate the same thing day in and day out. At least for me that statement is very true.

I discovered this snack through Spoon University, a subscription box. They were offering free boxes for a limited time and these boxes would be filled with a variety of snacks. And since it was free to try, I couldn't really say no because once again everyone loves to get stuff free...especially snacks. Granted it took about a month for me to receive my box but I was more than willingly to wait to try out the new snacks that I haven't tried before. I did try several new snacks that I have never tried before so be on the lookout for those in upcoming reviews.

The first thing that I noticed about this popcorn is that it wasn't overly sweet. It was the perfect combination of sweet and savory. This is a problem that I have personally noticed with previous products that I have tried that are similar to Moose Munch. Perhaps it is my own personal taste buds but I often find products such as these to be overly sweet and I cannot enjoy them. The addition of the crunchy clusters gave the popcorn even more of a texture, one that was well appreciated. And also with the combination of the almonds and the cashews, it gave the popcorn just enough of that nutty flavor for it to compliment the combined flavors of the milk chocolate, the clusters and the popcorn itself.

What surprised me the most about this product was how filling it was. The bag that came in the box was a snack bag but I quickly found that just by eating only half of the bag that I was full. It was an odd feeling but one that wasn't unwelcome. It is hard to find a snack that is not only satisfying to eat but one that fills you up. I was full for several hours while I was out running errands after eating only half of the small snack bag. I like this fact because I feel like I can snack on this product before I have to go grocery shopping so I no longer have to worry about shopping while hungry. Because we all know what happens if one goes grocery shopping when one is hungry, you end up spending needless amounts of money on food that you didn't even plan on getting in the first place.

I cannot wait to try the other flavors of this gourmet popcorn. I do wonder if they offer a Holiday canister...hmm, something to look into for sure. Well that does it for this review,

Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Zero

Now I admit that when it comes to hair care products, I am a bit biased. The one true line of hair care products that have never let me down or disappointed me in anyway is Garnier Fructis. I have tried several other hair care product lines and while they do a good job, I find myself coming back to Garnier Fructis time and time again. By far out of any other hair care product line, it is the one that my hair responds best to and I don't see the point in changing that anytime soon.

So I admit that when I saw this new product line from Garnier Fructis for their Sleek & Shine products, I was admittedly over the moon to try out this product. This is mostly because out of all of the product lines, Sleek & Shine has been the absolute best for my hair. This is because my hair is not only naturally curly but it is very thick; so it goes to say that when it gets hot and humid, my hair reacts by getting into a frizzy mess. And I don't have to tell you how hard it is to manage frizzy hair, it can be a downright nightmare. But thanks to Sleek & Shine, I have been able to keep my mane under control which I have never been more thankful for a product line than I am with Sleek & Shine.

Now it needs to be said that I wasn't in the mind to try out this new line from Sleek & Shine when I first found out that it was coming out. But habits that I have been unknowingly changing since the beginning of this year prompted me to give it a try. I have been trying to use only natural hair care and skin care products; which the funny thing is, I had no idea I was even doing it! It actually took me a few weeks to even notice what products I was choosing and which ones I weren't repurchasing. Now I admit that picking out hair care products was the most difficult because I was really dreading giving up my Garnier Fructis for some other products that I weren't sure would even help my hair out a little. And by this time, I had completely forgot about the new line coming out from Sleek & Shine; so I was downright depressed when I ran out of my favorite shampoo and conditioner and ventured into the store to purchase some different products that I have never tried before.

But as I searched through the shelves, picking up this bottle and putting it right back; I was beginning to lose hope, nothing was catching my eye. My hope was fleeting and I was just about to give up and try another store when something caught my eye at the very last shelf on the end of the aisle. I was so happy that I couldn't barely contain myself, I couldn't believe that I forgot about this product coming out. I already knew that the product didn't contain any silicone in it, hence the name but seeing it in person, I literally cannot describe how happy I was. Sure it wasn't as natural as I could go but I am more than willing to make that decisions as some things aren't worth giving up just yet.

So I bought my new shampoo, conditioner and leave in serum and made my way back home with the my treasures. I have to say that this product line seems to work even quicker than the original Sleek & Shine.

I immediately noticed a difference just after one washing, my hair not only felt lighter and but it just felt more cared for. I'm not sure if it the absence of silicone or what but I have never been so happy with a result. I cannot recommend this product enough, it really does feel like my hair is now lighter than air. Even with using Sleek & Shine, my hair still felt a bit heavy but with Zero I don't get that heavy feeling at all. And as for the frizz...well, it's still there but not nearly as bad and I have noticed that the more I use these products, the more the frizz seems to simply vanish. I have no doubt that after a few more washes that the frizz will be completely gone which suits me just fine because frizzy hair during the summer heat isn't fun for anyone.

Well that does it for this review!
