V8 Hydrate – Strawberry & Cucumber

I have been drinking V8 juice for several years and recently have become slightly addicted the V8 Energy drinks. So when I was in the store last time, I was gonna grab me a pack of them but this caught my eye; so I picked this up as well.
I know I am not the only one that loves the combination of Strawberry and Cucumber, so I couldn't pass this up. The price was pretty good for a 6 pack of these little cans, coming in just a little bit under $4.00 (which is about the price of the V8 Energy drinks as well). I let them chill in my fridge overnight and awoke the next morning to try my first one.
Let me say this, OMG it tasted so good! With all of V8's products, each one contains one serving of vegetables and depending on what flavor you get to drink; you might not even notice the vegetables at all. With this flavor, all I could taste was strawberries with a light refreshing hint of cucumber. However, when my friend tried it she told me that all she could taste was tomato; so everyone could taste something different.
After drinking this first thing in the morning, I noticed that I was a bit more awake and aware than I usually was. And I noticed that I didn't get as thirsty throughout the rest of the morning that I felt well hydrated. I plan on buying these again; they seem especially good to have around during the heat of the summer, to excite the taste-buds with something other than plan water. We all get tired of drinking water, or at least I do and I need something a bit different tasting but something that is also good for me. I think this product fits that description perfectly.

Love, Beauty and Planet Coconut Water & Minola Flower Shampoo & Conditioner

I have tried Love, Beauty and Planet shampoo, conditioner and body wash, so I quickly fell in love with the brand and loved using their products. Though once again the addition of coconut made me a bit hesitant to try out this particular shampoo and conditioner; but when Facebook offered a free sample, I decided that I didn't have anything to lose. I really need to learn to stop second-guessing myself.
I was surprised that instead of one-use foil packets that I was sent a travel size of both products. Because honestly, I can see why companies do that when they offer sample sizes but I'm personally not a fan of the foil packets of products. Anyway, I was able to use both samples in about a few hair-washes and once again I have two new favorite products to add to ever growing list of products.
My hair felt hydrated, bouncy and felt lively again. In the summer, this is hard for me to achieve because my hair despises the humidity with a fiery passion; so finding products that work well enough to tame my frizz is a feat to say the least. But this shampoo and conditioner did not disappoint in the least, which made me all the more excited to use it.
The scent was strong but not overly there and it did linger in my hair for several hours later in a subtle way. So that made me glad that the scent wasn't overpowering in the slightest and was just there in a way that a cool breeze would be coming off the ocean. Honestly, it made me want to go the beach every time I used it. But I can see myself using this scent mostly in the summer and maybe a few times during the winter when the cold is nipping at my nose.

Plant Therapy Essential Oils (Lavender & Lemon)

I'll admit that I wasn't really an advocate for essential oils until a few years ago. Now, I don't understand how I went so long in my life without using them daily. Usually I buy my oils from Amazon, Walmart or Target. However, when given the chance to review these two plant-based essential oils, I couldn't pass it up. And I was not disappointed in the least and I find myself only wanting essential oils from this company from now.
From the day these two oils arrived in the mail, I could smell them through the packaging. It was a strong scent but not overwhelming in the slightest. They both just smelled so pure and natural that I had to use the Lavender one straight away. After putting a few drops in my diffuser, it not only filled my bedroom but most of my house with the calming scent of lavender. And even after a few days had passed, the scent lingered throughout my home; despite me not having used my diffuser since that day that I first used it.
The lemon one smells just as good and reminds me of spring. I have taken to putting a few drops here and there, especially in my kitchen and I am very happy with the results that this has given me. My kitchen smells so clean and springy all the time; which puts me in a great mood for sure.
I am already thinking of different scents that I can get from this company, to see what else that they have to offer. If anyone is interested the company is called Plant Therapy and here is their website: https://www.planttherapy.com And from what I can tell, they do offer more than just essential oils so there will definitely be something there for everyone to try out.

Peace Tea Review

Over a year ago, I gave up drinking sodas and some carbonated drinks. I do however; indulge in them from time to time because I have found that if I deny myself completely then I am more than likely to "cheat" so to speak. Now I don't drink one a day or even one a week; I do indulge once or twice a month but sometimes not even that much. Anyway, I'm getting away from the topic at hand.

Today I am going to be giving my honest review of Peace Tea. I saw these at my local grocery store and decided to try them. And I am so glad that I did, they are SO delicious. There are seven flavors all together and out of them all, there is only one that I don't like; so that's a good record for me to have.

The flavors are: Sweet Lemon, Snoberry, CaddyShack (Lemonade & Sweet Tea), Georgia Peach, Green Tea, Razzleberry and Texas Style Sweet Tea (This one I do not like). So there are a variety of flavors, so there is something out there for everyone to enjoy and variety is always a good thing.
To me, these drinks are better than sodas because each contain no sodium and about 21 grams of sugar in each can; which isn't really a lot. Each can has 2 servings of 80 calories per serving.  And while they are sweet, they aren't too sweet for me is perfectly fine cause while I like sweet things; I don't like things that are too sweet tasting.

This ended up being a pretty short review because there really isn't much else to tell about this product, except to tell people to go out and try them. So I guess that's it for this review.

Until Next Time!

Gillette Treo Razor Review

First let me apologize for not updating this blog in several months...almost a year I think. I have no excuse only that life kinda blind-sided me but now everything is going great. So keep an eye out for several reviews over the next couple of weeks as I have several that I need to catch up on.

Gillette Treo
Today's review is going to be for the Gillette Treo Razor. This razor was released last year and I was one of the lucky few that were able to get their hands on it to try it out. The reason being is that for those that do not know, I am a caregiver. I have been the main caregiver for my grandfather and my mentally handicapped uncle for the last 10 years or more. So I am always looking for something that not only makes every day tasks easier for them but for me as well.

This razor caught my attention cause it was created in order to make shaving easier and for me that was something that I was very interested in trying. My grandfather is 84 so shaving himself has become quite the task over the last few years as not only his eyesight becoming worse but his balance as well; so he cannot stand up for long periods of time. The same cannot be said for my uncle, who is just not able to shave himself without cutting himself in one way or another. So I am the one that shaves them and I try my hardest to make it easy on them. For my uncle, it's not difficult for me cause I have been shaving him the longest but with my grandfather, I know that I have to be a extra careful due to him being older and the fact that he is a diabetic; so a cut for him could mean something worse.

When I first tried out the Treo, I was surprised by how tiny it seemed. This little thing was suppose to
Before Shaving
shave a grown man's beard? I couldn't believe it. And it wasn't suppose to cut them, which was something that other razors have claimed to prevent over the years. But after trying out the Treo after the first time, I was amazed. The shaving cream that is contained in the handle of the razor works to help stiffen the beard hair in order to make shaving easier. It is gentle on the skin and has a pleasant scent to it which all of us enjoyed. The blade itself was an interesting design to say the least. The razor itself was designed to glide back and forth over the skin, like one would do with a paint brush on a canvas. It is this design that makes it easier for not only caregivers to use but for elderly to use themselves. Cause they are not removing the blade every few seconds to clean it but rather gliding it back and forth over their skin.

After only ONE pass! Amazing!
The shaving cream, well actually gel, not only helps stiffen the hair but it also leaves the skin feeling super smooth. It it definitely a product that I would go out of my way to purchase again and again because it truly does work the way that it claims. And I'm not sure if it's luck or something else, but neither my grandfather nor my uncle have suffered any cuts from this razor since I began using them since the middle of last year; whereas when I used other razors, no matter how careful I was they always ended up with either razor burn (grandfather) or tiny cuts due to their thick beards (uncle).

I highly recommend this razor to anyone who knows an elderly person that needs something better to help them shave with or if you, yourself, are a caregiver. This will make shaving much less stressful; despite it being such a menial task or something that many people wouldn't stress over. But unless you are a caregiver, or you personally know a caregiver then one cannot understand how much it helps to just make something seem so menial easier. It does take wonders of stress off that's for sure, and I once again Gillette for sending me the Gillette Treo to try. And I have recommended it to not only other caregivers that I know of but even nurses and home health nurses who have seen the razor in our bathroom or in our personal things when we are out and about. I am more than happy to make someone's else life a bit easier! :-)

Until Next Time!

Disclaimer: I was not paid for my review for the Gillette Treo. I received it free and was asked to give my honest opinion of it.

Product Review - Karma Water Probiotics

Hello all and welcome to another review!

I recently had the opportunity to try Karma Water Probiotics and I can't believe that I haven't tried it before now. Now for those that don't know Karma Water, it is essentially vitamin water but instead of being premixed; the vitamins are contained above the water in a push cap. So when one is ready to drink it, one can simply push the vitamins into the water and shake it up themselves. The reason for this design is because vitamins deteriorate in the water in premixed water; and in this way one can get the maximum amount of vitamins in your water. For those interested, I will include the link to the Karma Water website; so feel free to check it out.

Now I have tried Karma Water before having seen it on a trip to Whole Foods where my curiosity got the better of me and I just had to try it. And I never regretted it. The water itself is good on its own but when you add the vitamin powder to it, it just brings the taste to the next level. However this was the first time that I have tried any kind of probiotic or digestive health and I can't believe that it has taken me this long to try it. I have now started drinking it at least twice a week and I must say that I have noticed a great improvement. I haven't felt this good in a long time and I know it is thanks to Karma Water Probiotics.

The flavors that I tried were Strawberry Lemonade, Kiwi Melon and Tropical Coconut. (I will include pictures at the end of this review) I knew that I would love the Strawberry Lemonade as strawberries are one of my favorite fruits. But I admit that I was on the fence when it came to the other flavors, especially the Tropical Coconut. This is because I am not the biggest fan of coconut and as such I tend to stay away from products that have that flavor. But I was willing to take the chance with this flavor and I am so glad that I did. Not only was the coconut so subtle in this drink, it made me feel like I was enjoying a cool tropical drink on the beach. The Kiwi Melon was a bit on the tart side but it was still really good.

I learned that with me, I got the most out of these drinks when I drank them in the morning before I ate breakfast. But I also have a friend that drinks them as well but she says with her that she feels that it works better for her if she drinks it before she goes to bed. So I'm guessing it is different for everyone when it's best to drink it.

As I said previously, I am drinking two of these a week and I feel fantastic. My previous stomach issues vanished after a few weeks and I am content to keep them that way. There isn't much else that I can say about this product but I highly recommend that you go out and try it for yourselves. I mean what can you lose? And if you're not interested in trying out the Karma Water Probiotic line, they have a line for just overall health such as mental health and even a drink to help balance out your mood (one of my personal favorites I might add). And as I said earlier, I will link their website below as well as the pictures from the products that I tried.

Until Next Time!

Product Review - Tropicana Watermelon Juice

Since the end of March, I have completely cut sodas or any carbonated drinks out of my diet completely. And while I am loving the results, I find myself in search of something that has flavor but is not has harmful to my body as sodas are. So I've been trying a few non-carbonated drinks and I'm happy to say that I have quite a few of them that I have fallen in love with. The first being is what I'm going to review today, the Tropicana Watermelon Juice.

Now I'm not really a big fan of the Tropicana Orange Juice, mostly because it tends to give me slight heartburn so I stay away from it if I can. However, when I saw this juice in my local Dollar General; I admit that I was instantly curious. I wanted to see if it the drink would be overly sweet and whatnot. So I decided to give it a try and I must say that I wasn't disappointed at all.

The juice itself is not overly sweet at all, it is the perfect sweetness; at least to me it is. And much to my surprise it doesn't taste like someone just juiced a watermelon and put it in a bottle. There is some effort put forth in the making of this juice and I for one appreciate the effort.

And while there is only 90 calories per serving in this drink, serving size being 8 fl oz; it is the amount of sugar and added sugars that would prevent from drinking this drink as much as I would like to. The amount of sugar per serving is 22 grams and added sugar is also 22 grams. If you want to leave more about it, I will leave the link that I found out this information at the end of this review.

So while it is in fact a little healthier for one to drink when compared to sodas & other carbonated drinks, you still need to go easy on it when considering the sugar that is in it. Speaking for myself, I can't drink a full serving of this when I drink it. I usually only get about 4 fl oz or less due to the fact that not only do I not want to consume all of that sugar but I also do not want burn myself out on the drink itself.

Well that's it for this review, it was pretty short and sweet but the next one will be a bit longer as I am reviewing not just one product but a few from a company.

Until Next Time!

Product Review - V8 Energy Drinks

Since I have completely cut out all sodas (carbonated drinks) from my diet over the past 2 months, I have found myself in need to something that will give me energy; especially in the mornings.

While I do enjoy a cup of coffee now and again, I do not like to drink it every morning as it seems to mess with my digestion; so I have cut myself back to one or two cups a week and so far it seems to be working.

I have always struggled with getting my daily amount of vegetables. It has been a problem that I have been fighting for years because I honestly do not like vegetables of any shape or form. Well, that's not true as I am quite fond of corn but there is only so many ways one can eat corn until it gets old. Granted I have made discoveries of drinks that will help me reach my daily amount of vegetables, V8 being one of them and the other being Green Machine. But it was this new product from V8 that caught my attention. It was exactly what I was looking for and I was so happy to try it.

I have tried several of the flavors but by far my top favorites are the Peach Mango and the Pomegranate Blueberry. These two flavors I can't seem to get tired of and no matter what other flavors that I have tried, I always keep coming back to these two. They are the perfect mixture and even though you know that there are vegetables in the drink, you cannot taste them. I think that is perhaps the thing that I like the most is that I cannot taste the vegetables. Perhaps my taste buds will change over time to start to like the taste of vegetables.

I have now taken to drinking one of these drinks with my breakfast every morning in order for me to be fully alert for the rest of my day. I've been doing this for a few weeks now and I will never look back to my old routine. I feel more awake during the day after consuming this drink and I feel healthier because I'm getting some vegetables in me every day.

Well that's it for this review.

Until Next Time!
